God Save India

It is politics everywhere. Every action of the Government is targeting votes, votes and nothing else. For the Government, welfare to the country means nothing. Politicians are smart enough to realize that Indians can be emotionally maneuvered easily. Hence they perpetuate the emotional feelings among the public and mislead them totally.

The recent announcement of awarding Hemant Karkare for the Ashok Chakra is one among such acts. In what way Salskar and Kamte did not deserve this award that Hemant Karkare deserved. I repeatedly mention here that none of these three police officers qualify to be called martyrs. They did not fight the terrorists and they were shot just like other ordinary citizens who were shot in CST or on the roads. Because these men were police officers, they are termed as a martyr that sucks.

I may be cynic but l I view this like this. Hemant Karkare was involved in probing the Malegaon blasts that coined a new phrase “Hindu Terrorism”. This phrase helped the ruling party gain ground that was slipping from under their feet. It is a different matter that this probe and its alleged findings gave a boost to Pakistan demanding Purohit if we wanted LeT terrorists. As a gratitude to the great deed of Mr. Karkare, he is chosen for the award. In all fairness, he should not be awarded, if so, then award the other two police officers too. In India, after all even awarding Bharat Ratna has become a political gimmick (awarded to MGR) so this is nothing.

When the entire nation is worried about the border issue, there is another border issue that rocks the nation. It is not from neighbor country but from within. With elections approaching closer and Raj usurping the “Mee Marathi” plank, Shiv Sena has found out that Marathis in Karnataka are suppressed and hence he wants the borders to be redrawn. What the heck is this? Mr, Balasaheb, If you say that Marathis in Karnataka are tortured what would you say to the plight that north Indians are met with in Maharashtra by your nephew?

BJP, a ruling party in Karnataka and an alliance partner to Shiv Sena in Maharashtra is sandwiched in-between. It has no spine to make Bal Thacrey shut his foul mouth. This is not a problem of Marathi-non-Marathi but problem of country’s integration. BJP hoping to rule the country should act in a way it wins the hearts of people even if it meant losing alliance partners. After all, they did not bother to lose Shekhawat or Kalyan Singh so why to worry about Bal Thackrey?

Personalities like Amar Singh make me wonder can educated ones make a difference to politics. This joker just to put Congress in a fix nominated Sanjay Dutt (who was convicted for aiding terrorists and was caught red-handed for possessing dangerous weapons) for the candidature of Lok Sabha. He went on to add that if Sanjay Dutt is ruled out, he would field his wife Manyata? What sort of democracy we are in? Are the people jokers or Amar Singh is? Is it not the high time that Election Commission came out with basic qualifications for a candidate to Lok Sabha?

I am perplexed why we Indians take pride in bragging about our poverty? If not why should the “premier-in-waiting” Rahulbaba took Miliband on a poverty-visit in his constituency? Can you imagine any other foreign politician doing this with Indians whenever they visit their country? Is there a country in the world that has eradicated poverty on whole?

Karunanidhi has started crying over Tamils again. He is more concerned about Tamils than India. Prabhakaran, as we all know (and so do Karunanidi) is an enemy to Srilanka and India as well. He not only killed more Tamils but also looted Tamilnadu. Enough of Tamil issue. Let us focus other issues like power shortage, drop in industrial investments and issues that concern Indian citizens and the welfare of India.

With regional parties mushrooming all over the country, the country lacks political parties that will have a concern for the nation. Even the so called Nationalist parties are playing second fiddle to these regional parties. It is highly unfortunate for a country like us. Why don’t we think beyond our caste, state, language, religion? Is it a problem with our people or the politicians? How long will we allow such things to happen?

Overdose of Eulogy?

In all fairness, one has to agree that it needs guts to meet a murderer (or a conspirator) that too if the murderer has taken the life of your blood-relation. In that way, hats-off to the guts shown by Priyanka Vadra. However, what I fail to understand the eulogy praised by the media on her.

It seems that the media has gone overboard in claiming, “she wanted to meet with them as she wanted peace (none knows whether had she give her the peace of mind); height of compassion (as they sought mercy in changing the capital punishment to life term); the sacrifices(?) of the family to the nation….”

I may sound cynical but all I want you to just consider my view points:

• If the visit is personal, why can’t they stop the media (they can if they wanted) from airing all these nonsense reports.
• Even if one purchased the argument that an over-enthusiastic lawyer filed a RTI on this regard and hence it leaked. With the political gimmicks being played around, one is driven to think even the RTI is stage-managed by themselves.
• Given the timing (with elections around), is the party trying to corner sympathy?
• If the family wanted peace of mind, why they had not met even a single Sikh family of the numerous families who were literally burnt alive in Delhi when their father was made the PM and the media (run by the Govt) thoroughly blacked out the happenings?
• Why the family thought it is necessary to meet the family of the soldiers who had lost their lives in the IPKF deputed to Sri Lanka (that resulted in their fathers’ murder too)?
• Why Priyanka Vadra felt it is not necessary to meet the soldiers’ family who lost their lives saving the so-called leaders of Indian when they were assembled in the Parliament?
  
  

I fully agree that it requires enormous guts to digest the sudden loss that too in a ghastly manner and to meet the very same person who were the reason behind it. My question is why to make it so obvious and still claim it is personal?

My cynical mind also thinks that they sought the life term for Nalini because they wanted to keep this issue alive as it would reap them some sympathy? This may sound weird but one cannot rule out such possibilities given the nature of Indian politicians.

My anger is what happened to the media? Why do they do so without even giving it a thought? In the rush of covering an issue fastest, they allow the reasoning to fly in air. Cover the news but do not thrust your opinion. The reports went on eulogizing their sacrifices (which in reality is not a sacrifice at all) and it brought me the memories of Late Mr HKL Bhagat, the then information & broadcasting minister who kept on airing the life of Indira Gandhi and kept mum on the burning lives of Sikh families.

When will the Indian media learn to behave? When will they shun the sensationalism? When will they start acting in responsive manner? God Knows!

Prince in Waiting

The “Prince-in-waiting” had made a comment that took the entire Indian political arena by surprise. He remarked, “The internal democracy in the Congress party is to be nourished”. Had any other party member made such remarks, he would have been bullied from all corners of the country by the so called loyalists of the party for the audacity. Such a golden opportunity was not provided to the sycophants of India’s oldest party.

If you were a close follower or observer of Indian politics, you would know the reason for the surprise. However, this has opened the eyes of those who still think that this lad can prove different. All one can do is to pity the Prince-in-waiting, Rahul Gandhi for his lack of knowledge on Indian politics or even the lack of knowledge of his own party’s history. Perhaps, Rahul needs a re-visit to the school of politics if he had made this statement genuinely.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry is aware that it was Rahul’s grandmother who sealed the fate of internal democracy of the nation’s oldest political party in the early 70’s. He cannot escape that he is unaware of this. If he is unaware of this, then he is unfit for the post he aspires or his party loyalists want him to. Indira Gandhi’s unabashed behavior in killing the internal democracy, purging those who opposed it, encouraging sycophancy were the salient features of this party from 70’s.

It reached its worst height when Rajiv Gandhi was made the Prime Minister without convening the meeting of the CPP. Sonia brought new heights when she enacted a well-executed drama in the name of putting down the papers.

All of us could not forget what happened to Sitaram Kesri, who was bundled out of his office the next moment Sonia was elected. However, the question of not adding even a single more seat in the following election under her leadership goes unanswered. Narasimha Rao met with a similar fate. All of us are aware what had happened to stalwarts like Morarji bapu, Nijalingappa, Kamaraj (the man who made her the queen), and likes of those.

Rahul should not forget that if internal democracy would have been there in the party, he could not have become the general secretary so easily. He should realize that this party is nothing but a family-run firm in the name of dynasty whose fame is fading.

I would prefer let Rahul discover his party in its original form rather than discovering India. We will see his discovery expedition in blogs to come.

Is it Regionalism - the irony of India

It is a different story today. Mr. Tejishwar Khanna, our Lt Governor of Delhi is under tremendous pressure from all corners as all politicians cutting across party lines are pouncing on him.

What did he do so? Did he do anything abnormal that Indians cannot digest or anything that is harmful to our country? If you thought so, then you, perhaps, did not understand Indian politics yet. All Mr. Khanna remarked is, “The traffic sense among North-Indians is bad as compared to South-Indians. They should learn from them so as to avoid many accidents that occur because of our lacuna”

Enough is enough now. All the politicians are up on their sleeves pouncing on Mr. Khanna for making regionalist statement. Are you laughing? If so, that is the irony of Indian politics.

I know and almost all of you knew that Mr. Khanna’s statement is not regionalist but a matter of common sense. He did not do any Raj Thackrey (refer my earlier blog). Still, surprisingly, our politicians, who did not find any fault with Raj’s statement what were worse than a regionalist statement and kept mum on that issue, are now dragging Khanna. They demand an apology from Mr. Khanna for making such a statement.

Every man has something or other to learn from the other he comes across. Still, Indian Ego does not allow them to accept this fact. If the traffic discipline is good at one part of India and not in other, why can’t we see this and learn? Why do we want to reject it in an outright fashion? Why do we act so hypocritical?

All of us knew that Delhites claim pride in violating law and I have hardly seen anyone using a subway to cross road in Delhi. They care a damn for the traffic laws and its signals and this is the prime reason for the numerous accidents occur in this place.

If politicians are so worried about this statement, what will they do if some one told that Delhi is unsafe for women as compared to any other part of India? Will it be considered as a regionalist statement?

I am at loss understanding these politicians. They should have protested to Raj Thackrey’s statement (that showed his immaturity) and hailed Mr. Khanna. These politicians should have impressed upon the basic necessity to common people after all it is for their safety. Instead they kept mum on Raj’s statement and pounced on Mr. Khanna.

But what can I expect in a country where the court verdicts against wearing of helmet (Pune). In all fairness, the court should have rejected the petition itself.

All it happens only in India!

BEHAVE LIKE HUMAN FIRST

Would someone have the guts to stand out and say this to the new kid in our politics Raj Thackrey, “Behave like Human first?”

The very reason to mention so is his recent statement, “if you want to live in Maharashtra, behave like Maharashtrians!” I am not sure when did Maharashtra become a private property of Raj that he dictates the residents such terms and conditions! Maharashtra is a part of India and Raj has no right to lay down his own terms and conditions. Had he said “behave like Indians” I would have felt proud and hailed Raj as twilight in the Indian politics. Alas! He also proved to be one among the same rotten lot!

I am still at loss to find out what did he mean by saying behave like maharashtrians. Perhaps, his supporters are demonstrating the behavior of Maharashtrians for the past week all over the state. Is this the way Maharashtrians behave? Does a Maharashtrian feel proud to claim that they behave in this barbaric manner?

Would Raj like to demonstrate the world that Maharashtrians behave like barbarians and those choose to live in this state should also behave the same way? Maharashtra is, still, a part of India and one should not forget it. We are all Humans first, then Indians. I don’t see any Maharashtrians, gujjus, tamils etc., All I find is only Indians. When will our politicians realize this? When will they start behaving in this manner?

Raj should not forget the thing that if Mumbai is so developed, it is attributed to the Parsis and Gujjus the most than the Maharashtrians. Successive Governments have failed in developing the requisite infra-structure in this place. The Mumbai I saw in 1987 and after two decades has no major difference but for the crowds. There are more cities in India that has excellent development rates vis-à-vis Mumbai.

If Amitabh decides to build a school in UP, it is his wish. If Raj is so concerned about Maharashtrians why can’t he shell some money out of his pocket to do so in his mother-land?

It is highly unfortunate that India is plagued with such regionalists to the core! It is a curse that no political leader has a will to object this in public. Playing the card of regionalism is the best way to disintegrate India. Did Raj think of the maharshtrians who had settled in other parts our country? If every state start behaving like this, what will happen to India?

Indeed the statement “Unity in Diversity” is hypocritical. If we had Unity, we would not have thought of diversity but we projected that we had unity and in-fought among ourselves. Such regionalism led to the debacle of India and we are not learning from the past. The Moguls invaded, the Brits invaded and still we claim pride while boasting regionalism. This may be the worst case of Jingoism demonstrated ever! The people should now think whether to allow such pests to be in the politics in whose hand we will be handing over the state of a country!

Story of an Ant & a Grasshopper..

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.

Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

We all are aware of this old Story and the moral of "Think in advance and plan your life"

Now goes the modern version....

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

NDTV, Star News, Aajtak, Tej, Headlines, show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.

Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.

Amnesty International and Koffi Annan criticizes the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance).

Indian Television channels conduct SMS survey on who is right and Ant wins with huge margin.

Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for Bharat Bandh in West Bengal wuth Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.

CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers.

Laloo Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the Grasshopper Rath.

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act' or POTAGA, with effect from the beginning of the winter.

Arjun Singh sets up Special Reservation for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & Government Services.

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, has his home confiscated by the Government and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by TV News Channels and the media.

Arundhati Roy calls it A Triumph of Justice.

Lalu calls it Socialistic Justice .

CPM calls it the Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden.

Koffi Annan invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly .

Many years later...

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multibillion dollar company in Silicon Valley .

Hundreds of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India ..

As a result of losing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, India is still a developing country!

This is not a story just to read and laugh. Please ponder over this. We all are, one of the reasons for this status to be present here. We simply read, laugh or comment and simply do not bother about this. We have a tool with us but we are not ready to use. We are not ready to spend even a single day in protest of what we feel is not right. Then, how can we change this? Please think about it !!!!

Tribute to Indian Soldiers

December 13th. Five years ago on this same date, India was shook by the news and the so-called leaders of the country were trembling in fear that they skipped their beats, sleeps for a week's time.

I hope all of you would have got the idea on which this blog is being discussed. There was an attempted attack on the Parliament House of India that was thwarted by genuine soldiers of India who gave their lives and saved the so-called leaders of the country who were inside.

After 5 years, if one has to say that politicians have done something in this regard, then it must be - "Cook politics". This is what precisely is being done. All the soldiers were given posthumus awards. Leader after leader shed their tears, eloborated in eloquence about the sacrifice made by the soldiers, sang hymns and went by. THat's it! We can expect only these and not more than these from them.

Today, the Government is more concerned about the culprit who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of India. Government feels otherwise. They do not want to punish the culprit. These politicians have forgotten that if the soldiers, like these politicians, had given importance to their lives and not to their duty, what would have happened? Would these politicians be alive today?

Another shameful act is now they want to confuse the case by stating that there were 6 terrorists and only 5 were killed. What happened to the sixth one? If the Govt is so keen, let it find the 6th one instead of mudslinging!

They bring shame to the soldiers' efforts by recommending that the Death sentence be withdrawn. It is sheer politics and the Government thinks that by doing so, they can gain the goodwill of Muslims whose vote bank is critical in winning the elections.

The bereaved families have returned the medals to the President this morning and this is a slap on the face of the Government. The Government should put down their heads on shame.

Tributes were paid to all soldiers spending lakhs of money, conducting a cermony, etc., If the Govt wants to pay genuine tribute to these soldiers, let it not intervene in the death sentence of the culprit.

IMDT - An information to younger generation

On July 13th of 2005, Supreme Court of India made remarks on legislation like this: “The IMDT (Illegal Migrants Detection and Tribunals Act) is not only unacceptable to the Indian Constitution but is against it.” Perhaps this would not have hit the headlines of all the newspapers and I am surer most of the younger generation might not be aware of this IMDT itself. I would be briefing this upon in this article.

The Seven Sisters (north eastern states) were called as Assam prior to separation. It was a peaceful land full of resources and calm people. The British after establishing friendship with the Muslim League allowed infiltration of excessive muslim population from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) only to create havoc among Indians. However, this was not stopped even after our Independence and Indian Government turned a blind eye to this.

The continuous in-flow of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants became a thorn in the flesh of Assamese but it became a tool of Vote Politics to Politicians. Our Ex-President Dr. Fakruddin-Ali Ahmed proved his loyalty by approving this infiltration as these infiltrators, in 1967 elections, elected him from Parpeta. This result initiated the Vote-Bank politics in Indian History.

Thus, encouraged immigrants started entering into other states also like West Bengal and now even entered Maharashtra. The so-called secular parties keep them encouraging courtesy vote-banks. The result now we have around 2 crores of illegal infiltrators in India (most of them are here on a mission to de-stabilize India with their terrorist activities).

Courtesy, Arun Shourie, the report by RAW to Central Government in this regard was made public. Even before to this, it was the people of Assam who brought this to light. They held various demonstrations without any violence. AASU (All Assam Students Union) spearheaded this fight with Central Govt. AASU, Started in 1977-78, became popular by 1980. As usual, Indian Media was against this and labeled AASU as anti-Muslim and those who supported infiltration were claimed as secularists.

The so-called secularists formed AMSU (All Assam Minorities Students Union) to confront AASU. The support for AASU increased all over India. The Govt of India was forced to solve this issue and in the name of dialogue, the Govt led by Ms Indira Gandhi dilly-dallied the issue with AASU. Finally, it assured AASU that a law will be written to excavate all those illegal infiltrators who entered India after 1950.

Assam Gona Parishad, a wing of AASU won in the elections but the Govt of India did not keep its promise. Later the law was written that was called as IMDT. But the irony is with clever usage of words, the vote-bank politicians made a mockery of our legislation with the new rule IMDT.


On 15th of October 1983, a legislation was written by the then Govt of India named IMDT. It was written that the Govt will find out those infiltrators who are illegally living in India and exile them out. This was valid only in Assam. Later, Assam was divided into several states and they were not included.

Another problem in the law is, the secular politicians who banked on Muslim votes also stated that whoever submits a compliant that somebody is an illegal immigrant has to submit the proof and not the illegal migrant.

Supported by the so called secularists, learned men (who always were anti-Hindu) and the media, whoever spoke about the loopholes of IMDT were labeled as anti-Muslim. Only at this point of time a legislator from AGP filed a suit with Supreme Court of India.

Supreme Court in its Judgement says, “IMDT supposed to evacuate illegal migrants was not written with that notion but supports and protects them indirectly. This is a breach of legislation and is against Indian Constitution.” It also said that this anti-national activity is being done with help of law itself.

It added, “Due to infiltration the nation is surrounded by anti-national elements from outside and inside of India as well. According to Article 355, it becomes the responsibility of the Central Government to stop this!” The supreme court had made this remark based on the report from Ex-Governor of Assam, Mr. Sinha in 1986 to the President of India.

Still, the Government of India has not taken any action on this. It has formed a committee of Ministers to analyze this issue. By doing this, they have taken care of their vote-bank but also assured the destruction of our Country.
