  The Annamacharya Keertana, “Jayalakshmi, Varalakshmi…” describes the splendour of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi in various forms. Jaya, Vara, Veera – denoting Victory, Blessing, Boon, Bravery, Courage etc., Annamaiah prays to Devi to bless the deveotees with Her generous presence. This kriti is composed in Lalita Ragam (Carnatic) and Taal Aadi.   Mr. Mohamed Muizzu, the new President of Maldives, rose to power on the plank of "India-Out" campaign.  Muizzu’s predecessor, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, was seen as being pro-India is a point to be remembered.  As the President, Mr Muizzu has undoubtedly been moving away from India and closer to China. The China-Maldives joint statement at the end of Muizzu’s visit bears testimony to their new found friendship. The trip saw hardly-veiled references to India’s “bullying”. On Sunday, Ahmed Nazim, Policy Director, Maldives President’s Office, reportedly said that the “Maldivian delegation” at the first India-Maldives High-Level Core Group meeting “has proposed the removal of Indian troops latest by March' 24”.   Life in India is cheap and it becomes cheaper on Indian roads. As per the reports released by MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) in October 2023, “During 2022, a total of 4,61,312 accidents were recorded in the country, of which, 1,51,997 (32.9%) took place on the National Highways including Expressways, 1,06,682 (23.1%) on State Highways and the remaining 2,02,633 (43.9%) on other roads.  The report titled 'Road accidents in India -2022' reported 11.9% year-on-year alarming rise in accidents and a 9.4% increase in fatalities and there was a 15.3% surge in the number of people getting injured in 2022 against the previous year. Tamil Nadu with 64,105 accidents (13.9%) recorded the highest number of road accidents in 2022 followed by Madhya Pradesh (54,432 i.e.,11.8%).
