Assembly Elections and Parliament Elections - Is there a relation?

The results are out. The media is busy! As to sensationalise these elections, they term it as Semi-finals. However, Assembly elections have no relation to the LokSabha elections. In fact, for the last 2 times, while the BJP was defeated in these elections that came just before the Parliament elections and was written off by the media, it won the Parliament elections with much ease. Hence, to term it as a "Semi-final" is wrong. Will the history repeat? Just because BJP won these elections, will they lose next year? We have to wait and watch.

Takeaways from this election results:
  • One cannot divide our people any longer in the lines of Castes if you did not practice that in your party ranks
  • Performance or Perish - People are repeatedly teaching this
  • No longer populism will carry through - Tribals have taught this
  • People are willing to discard freebies if you win their trust of delivery
  • Appeasement politics has not place now
  • No longer the organised media can be trusted (as they thrust views in the guise of views) but informal social media and individuals share the good deeds;
  • Parties should never rest but keep working tirelessly - success is a milestone and not a destination
  • Any insult to Sanatan Dharma will not be tolerated and those who did will be shown their place
  • Venkataramana Reddy defeating the to-be CM and current CM shows that people are voting for real performers!
  • People vote decisively - no longer hung Assemblies or hung Parliaments

Chattisgarh is a state where BJP's Raman Singh ruled for 3 terms. Baghel had managed to dislodge but could not win over the anti-incumbency! To blame it on "Sao" bias is not right when the Mahadev App really showed the real colours of Congress. This time, BJP did not declare any CM-face although Sao is the State leader. Now, BJP is facing a tough situation, to make Raman Singh the CM or Arun Sao! Sao's population is around 14~15% there and Saos are dead against Kurmis (Baghel's caste).

Madhya Pradesh - BJP lost here last time but managed to rule with a breakaway team led by Jyotiraditya. Despite the claims of face-fatigue, BJP returned to power with a thumping majority. All the flip flops of Kamal Nath on Sanatan, inviting Bagheshwar Baba and then refusing, insult on Sanatan - all had cost them. Diggy and his team did not support Kamalnath. Perhaps, the people were not happy with this old war horse.

Ashok Gehlot must be unhappy. Freebies will not take you long. No longer Indians will fall prey to this. Gehlot thought that factions in BJP will sail him through but things did not go that way! Total loss of control on law & order, Rajasthan becoming the capital of rape - all went against Gehlot. Here it is the Gehlot Govt and not the Congress Govt which we have to keep in mind. Pilot has to prove his mettle yet here. This is a state where people always voted in turns. Gehlot was expected to break this trend. Alas! couldn't do that. A band-aid arrangement between Pilot and Gehlot just before elections will not win the hearts of the people.

in Telangana, good that BRS is defeated. BJP had made in roads. All the good work of BJP had helped Congress more than the BJP. The fact that Venkataramana Reddy defeating KCR and Revanta shows that people vote for performers.

Let this good trend continue in 2024 too!
